Bunny Murray
RAD Ballet, Song & Dance
Bunny has been a member of the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) since 1952. She is a charter member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (C.D.T.A.), Calgary branch. She has studied Tap, Highland, Acrobatic, Musical Theatre, Hawaiian, and the Cecchetti method Ballet from age 6-18. She began her work on R.A.D. system of ballet at age 15. Bunny has studied with, and later instructed for, Mara McBirney, a British teacher with a studio in Vancouver, and with Gweneth Lloyd, Co-founder of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, at the Banff School of Fine Arts for two summers. In 1953 she spent the summer studying at Rambert Ballet in London, England.
Bunny received her Theatre training from Betty Mitchell of Calgary. Performing on stage and with the backstage crew with the Calgary Civic Theatre. She has choreographed many dance recitals, concerts and fashion shows and re-wrote and staged "La Boutique Fantasque", "Coppelia", "Les Patineurs" and the "Nutcracker" for children. She is also seasoned as a director.
Bunny has served on the Board the S.A. Community Association, Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Founding Committee Richmond Community Arts Association, P.G. Theatre Workshop, P.G. Cantata Singers, and the Prince George Concert Association.
